![]() I went to a small, local, one-day con last year. It's a lose/lose situation I'm dammed if I do, and dammed if I don't. are greatly depends on if they actually get the schedule out at least 1-2 weeks beforehand) or I wait until the schedule is out first and then get screwed because badges have doubled in price (if they're still even available), all the hotel blocks have sold out, and work tells me I can't have the weekend off because it's not enough notice. If that means they have to stop taking panel submissions 6 months before the con so that they can get the schedule out four months before the con, then so be it.Īs it stands currently, it's either I book everything early at cheaper rates to secure a spot only to realize the con is actually going to suck once the schedule comes out (badges aren't refundable and whether hotel rooms, flights, etc. The schedule really should be posted before before the first tier of early bird pricing ends. I seriously cannot understand how conventions can wait until a week or 2 before the con to post their schedules when attendees need to secure badges, hotel rooms, and time off work months in advanced. I couldn't care less about things like guests, raves, or room parties. The con schedule (panels/meetups/tournaments) makes or breaks a convention for me. This is my biggest pet peeve with anime cons as a whole. However, fans make plans months in advance, and typically the schedule is only released a week before the con. Highlighted cons are supermajors with a historical attendance of over 30000 and have significant industry support. Comic, gaming, and other fandom cons aren't listed. The following is a list of conventions with a primary focus on general anime and have a historical attendance of over 10000. Please use r/cosplay for those instead.įull rules are here. ![]() Individual or group cosplays that aren't part of a scheduled convention event will be removed. ![]() Use to find all upcoming conventions in your area.ĬOSPLAY: As this subreddit is about convention events in particular, cosplay posts must relate to a scheduled convention event, such as a photoshoot or masquerade. It leans towards cons located in North America, but discussion of other cons worldwide is welcome. This subreddit is for discussion of anime meetups and convention events with fellow enthusiasts.
